State of Maine Rustic Lodge Paddle

$675.00

Carved pine canoe paddle with exceptional folk scene of the "Norway Pines at Dobsis Lake". The pyrography image depicts the main lodge which was built in 1884 on lake Syladobsis in Orrington Maine. Notable visitors to the lodge included Andrew Carnegie and President Calvin Coolidge.
The folky image includes the architecture with towering pines and two small campfires. On the verso is a wonderful calligraphic script name "Stone". A rare folk art find of graphic appeal depicting a historic rustic lodge. Wonderful untouched varnished surface with copper edging. C 1900
